Perfection Is The Enemy Of Good

Doesn’t that opening picture just make you go, “Ahhhh….” I think it’s a great example of something that feels perfect.

Warm sun, soft sand, and a clear ocean; plus a swing to laze the day away.

I know it’s only Wednesday, but I’m feeling a “Flashback Friday” in the works. Heck, I suppose it could be a “Throwback Thursday,” especially when you see the ‘stache I’m sporting (the wife likes it), in the upcoming video.

Either way, I’m dusting off a “Walking Podcast” from many months ago, as I “ramp up” into creating more blogposts.

The message for today’s blog is one I have spent (entirely) too much time pondering: Perfection.

Perfection in my opinion, as you’ll see, is BS! Many writers, like you and me, have this thing, this mindset, this pull that says, “If it’s not perfect, then I don’t want to write it…publish it…or share it.”

Oh, quite the contrary. Haven’t you ever had a moment when you just tossed something out into the cosmos and it turned out being one of your greatest accomplishments? If so, I’m guessing you were in THE FLOW; something Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi knows a thing  about, but that’s another topic for another blog/podcast, and trust me, I have plenty to say about that State Of Mind.

Now, don’t get me wrong, it does have to have some worth, right? I mean, you gotta have SOMEthing to say. How ’bout I just stop typing and let you watch.

Let me know what you think…if you agree…if you don’t…and what your feelings are.

Oh, one last “Spot of Perfection” for me, especially given my new-found passion for Hiking.
